Situated in the west of County Cork, Glandore – meaning ‘Harbour of the Oaks’ in Gaelic - is renowned as one of the prettiest villages in Ireland, occupying a picturesque setting at the head of a natural wooded harbour. Due to the proximity of the Gulf Stream, Glandore enjoys a mild climate throughout the year and is home to a number of pubs and a restaurant. The nearby fishing village of Union Hall offers further amenities as well as a large fishing fleet which provides fresh seafood to local restaurants. Both Glandore and Union Hall boast sheltered harbours and year-round water activities including sailing, sea angling, whale watching and rowing regattas. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy courses at Skibbereen, Clonakilty and Bantry, whilst sandy Blue Flag beaches can be found at Inchydoney, Rosscarbery and Tragumna.
