Annie's House Description

Annie's House is light and spacious with a homely feel. Just a mile north of Aldeburgh is this fascinating seaside village, built in the 1920s by Glencairn Stuart Ogilvie, an architect, barrister and playwright. The mock Tudor style of building is now the hallmark of Thorpeness, where the amenities include the Dolphin Inn, the Thorpeness Hotel with its 18-hole golf club, a country club with tennis courts and the Meare - a large shallow boating lake with tearooms nearby. The beaches are mainly sandy and behind the village is a myriad of footpaths over heath and common land. Annie's House is a modern home, situated in a lovely setting opposite Thorpeness church. It has light and spacious rooms, yet with a very homely feel. A short stroll down the lane in one direction will bring you to the beach and in the other direction you will reach Thorpeness Meare. The property also offers wireless broadband. Shop: 120 yards Pub: 120 yards. GROUND FLOOR Kitchen/Dining Room: Electric cooker, gas hob, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, table and chairs. Sitting Room: TV, DVD, open fire, doors leading to the Garden Room: Table and chairs. Cloakroom: Washbasin and wc. FIRST FLOOR Bedroom 1: Double bed. Bedroom 2: Bunk beds, plus a pull-out bed, ideal for children (black-out curtains also provided).Bedroom 3: Twin beds. Bathroom: Bath, over bath shower, washbasin and wc. Garden: Fully enclosed rear garden with patio furniture. Garage: Fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, Butler's sink and clothes drying area (suitable for locking bikes). Parking: Off-road for three cars. Heating: Gas heating and open fire. Notes: Telephone for incoming calls, stair gate, books, games and bicycles, wireless broadband all provided. The stairs have a hand-rail each side, making them very easy to climb. One dog welcome with permission, but please note that dogs are not permitted on some sections of the beach during the summer months.
