The cottage is a short stroll from the village and the area boasts many restaurants where you can enjoy the catch of the day . Sailing is a particularly popular sport on the sheltered waters of the Kyles of Bute and there is a local 9-hole golf course. Visitors can enjoy wonderful scenic walks cycle the famous Cowal Way or try river and loch fishing. Day trips to Inveraray Dunoon and the Isle of Bute are popular and make for a good day out. The nearby marina at Portavadie boasts a fine restaurant overlooking the yachts and a short ferry crossing from here leads to Tarbert which is a pretty fishing village on the Mull of Kintrye and a magnet for tourists and yachties .
