The bustling resort of Bude boasts superb beaches, good shopping, restaurants, an excellent 'Splash' pool, tennis, horse riding, cycle hire, a golf course and canalside walks, whilst inland, the unpoilt countryside offers a delightful blend of woods, lakes and moorland dotted with quaint hamlets and friendly pubs. A variety of water sports can be found at Tamar Lakes (8 miles) and just a short drive away is Clovelly, a picture postcard gem of a village whose whitewashed cottages and inns line the steep, winding cobbled street leading down to its historic fishing harbour. Home to Rick Stein's restaurants and the start of the famous Camel Trail cycling route, the attractive fishing port of Padstow is easily accessible, as are Hartland Abbey and trips on the Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway.
