Wheatacre Hall Barns;Teal
Amidst the timeless beauty of Norfolk's Broadland, a gentle evocative landscape of hidden waterways and wide arching skies, this attractive cluster of cottages has been created from the sympathetic conversion of a range of handsome farm buildings. Retaining many of their original features including fine old beams in their tastefully appointed and very comfortable interiors, they enjoy a wonderfully peaceful rural setting on a working dairy and arable farm. Set near the owners' lovely farmhouse, each cottage boasts its own private sitting out area and access to the farm grounds where coarse fishing and farm walks, cycling and bird watching as well as the shared enjoyment of an outdoor hot tub combine to make Wheatacre Hall Barns the perfect spot in which to relax and unwind. If visitors can tear themselves away from the comforts of the farm, a wide variety of nearby attractions invite exploration. Fritton Lake Country Park is a must for a family day out and the elegant seaside resort of Southwold is home to a famous local brewery, independent shops and galleries, summer theatre and a pier with traditional amusements to delight all ages. Pleasurewood Hills theme park and Great Yarmouth for family fun, the Red Wing horse sanctuary and the pretty riverside market town of Beccles, gateway to the southern Broads with its marina and little shops (5 miles), are all well worth a visit. The beautiful sandy beaches on the north Norfolk coast lie within 9 miles and delightful boat trips start from the Waveney River centre at Burgh St Peter (2 miles) where visitors can hire a boat or simply sit and relax, watching all the waterbourne activities, whilst just 15 miles away, the lovely medieval city of Norwich boasts a magnificent cathedral and a castle housing a fascinating museum, a plethora of cafs and restaurants, art galleries, a historic covered market, cinemas and theatre, as well as the best shopping opportunities to be found anywhere in the region. A little further afield but easily accessible are RSPB Minsmere, lovely walking at Dunwich Forest and Heath (N.T.), the famous concert hall and craft centre at Snape Maltings, and the renowned fish and chip shop in the seaside town of Aldeburgh. The local pub is just a mile walk and shops and a pub serving food are found in Burgh St Peter, 2 miles away.
