The heights of Hartland Point (325 ft) offer magnificent views and invigorating sea air, and Hartland Quay and Clovelly a peaceful Devon village where donkeys and sledges are the only traffic through quaint narrow streets are a delight. To the south of Bude lie Widemouth Bay, Boscastle and Tintagel, legendary seat of King Arthur. The whole coastline is a walkers' paradise, whilst further afield visitors will find the granite plateau of Dartmoor and the infinite charms of Exmoor, forever associated with Lorna Doone; and the Eden project is about 1 hours' drive. There is sailing and wind surfing (courses available) on Roadford Lake (4 miles away) as well as fly fishing for brown trout and a perfect place for picnics. Golf, riding and tennis are available locally.The market towns of Holsworthy, Okehampton and Launceston offer good amenities and there are a shop/P.O. and pub serving food in Ashwater (1 miles).
