Beloved of Walter Scott, the outstandingly beautiful landscape surrounding the lodge affords ample opportunities for exploring cycle trails (bicycles are supplied free of charge), sailing, playing golf and superb walking the West Highland Way passes close by.Boasting a billiard room and a summer house with table football in case of rainy days, Ptarmigan Lodge is ideal for family holidays. There is a good choice of hotels and inns serving food in the area, and an excellent restaurant at Balmaha (6 miles). Shops are found at Drymen (10 miles), and pub serving food is 1 mile away.
