Nestling in a peaceful, beautiful and secluded valley on the southern fringes of Exmoor, North Hayne Farm cottages enjoy uninterrupted countryside views yet are within a five minute drive of a major road. Set in 11 acres of paddocks and woodland, the pretty cottages laid out around a landscaped courtyard and imaginatively converted from historic farm buildings retain a wealth of original timbers and are very comfortably and stylishly furnished. Each has a well equipped kitchen and its own balcony, patio or garden. To make the holiday even more special, visitors are welcomed with a traditional Devonshire cream tea (Breakfast baskets and Celebration baskets can be ordered in advance).For the ultimate in relaxation, a qualified therapist is available, by arrangement, to offer treatments in the privacy of one's own cottage. These include massage, aromatherapy and reflexology. Selected cottages even have their own private hot tub and patio heater.Children are made especially welcome. If they wish, there are numerous animals to be stroked, fed, walked and groomed, and a timetable is set out for these activities. Eggs can be collected from the hens and, in springtime, lambs can be bottlefed. There are free donkey rides on Barney or Old Bear, a sandpit and a lawned area for ball games and volley ball. Small children will love the under 7's play barn and children of all ages can meet in the games room, where there is an enclosed toddlers' play area.When visitors can tear themselves from these delights, there are many attractions nearby. The local inn, boasting good food and live music, is just 1 miles and the lively market town of South Molton, with antique shops, supermarket, swimming pool and restaurants, is 3 miles. Exmoor is criss-crossed with myriad foot and bridle paths, and cycleways, and horse drawn barge trips on Tiverton's Grand Western Canal and North Devon's superb sandy beaches are all under half an hour by car. A scenic drive across Exmoor leads to the popular twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth, Porlock or the seaside resort of Minehead, whilst good road connections speed visitors to Barnstaple, Ilfracombe and Combe Martin. The owners are happy to arrange fishing, riding, golf and clay pigeon shooting.
