In the small village of Maidens, this cosy and compact studio cottage makes an ideal holiday hideaway, whatever the season. Glorious walking starts from the door visitors can take a stroll along the shore (pictured) to nearby Culzean Castle and Country Park whilst watching sea birds and waders on the way. There's good horse riding too along the sandy beach and fine golf courses nearby include Troon, Girvan, Turnberry and Maybole. Boat trips leave from Girvan to Ailsa Craig's bird reserve and, about an half hour's drive away, the Ardrossan ferry crosses to the Isle of Aran. Shops, pubs and a selection of places to eat out are all under 5 minutes' walk.
