Larachbeag
Larachbeag is part of a former railway cottage. It has been tastefully decorated, and Kate and Douglas Harrison will be pleased to welcome you here for a week, or a weekend. This is the perfect place for two people who enjoy the outdoors.
The open fire in the living room always provides a warm welcome, and the room itself is perfect for eating in, with its generous-sized dining table. The settee folds down to provide sleeping accommodation for another two people. TV, hi-fi and DVD player are provided.
The pleasantly-lit bedroom has a very comfortable double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers.
The adjacent bathroom has WC, basin, shower over the bath, and shaver point.
The kitchenette, although small, is equipped with cooker, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, and a good range of cookware and utensils.
Electric heaters, with timers, warm the house throughout.
Water is heated by electric immerser.
Electricity is by £1 coin meter.
Off-street parking is next to the house.
At the north-east corner of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, Killin is ideally located as a touring base for Perthshire.
The famous Falls of Dochart are only five minutes' walk up the street, and Loch Tay is less than a mile away, on one of the many well-signposted walks which start from the village.
Major cycle tracks follow the old rail routes into the village.
Breadalbane Park, the venue for major annual events such as the Highland Games, is nearby, and marks the start of the walk up Sron a' Chlachain, a hill overlooking Killin. The view over Loch Tay from this modest summit is splendid.
From low down, the mountain ridge Meall nan Tarmachan, a superb and much-photographed backdrop to the village, can be seen, with Ben Lawers, Perthshire's highest mountain, close by.
An easy drive take you through some of Perthshire's most spectacular scenery to golf, watersports, fishing, hillwalking and climbing.
