There are castles in Richmond and Middleham, and Wensleydale is home to the Dales Museum, the ropemakers' gallery and Wensleydale creamery in Hawes, the Aysgarth Falls and Castle Bolton. Barnard Castle and the Bowes Museum are 15 miles, Fountains Abbey, Newby Hall and the Lightwater Valley are 25 miles and the Lake District is about 35 miles. Reeth (3 miles) has a small weekly market, shops, cafs, pubs and restaurants. Pub 500 yards.
