Sandy beaches can be found at Scarborough, just 12 miles away and the fun of Flamingoland theme park and the interest of Eden Camp, an interactive wartime museum are within easy reach. Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay are within 20 miles as are the North Yorkshire Moors villages featured as 'Aidensfield' in the Heartbeat television programmes.
