Brackenlea Cottage


Brackenlea is an attractive refurbished 200 year old cottage situated in the heart of the pretty village of Harbottle in Coquetdale and is furnished to a very high standard. The village has a pleasant riverside situation, with the Cheviot Hills rising above it. The ruins of Harbottle Castle built in 1106 are a few hundred yards from the cottage, as is the village pub and shop. The cottage makes an ideal base from which to explore this beautiful area on the edge of the Northumberland National Park.

There are lovely walks from the cottage door to suit all, either into the Cheviot Hills, or through woodland and moorland.

The attractions of the Northumbrian Coast, the Roman Wall and Alnwick Castle and Gardens are all within easy reach.

Ground floor: Open plan kitchen/living room with electric oven, hob, fridge, microwave, automatic washer/dryer. Breakfast bar.
Comfortable lounge area with colour Satellite TV/DVD, fireplace with cast iron electric stove.

First floor: Bedroom 1 – 1 double bed. Bedroom 2 – 1 single bed. Shower room, WC.

A good selection of films, books, guides and OS maps are provided for guests.

There is cycle storage available on request.

Parking outside the cottage. Night storage heating throughout.
All power and bed linen included in rent.
